Taught by art tutor, Zoe Hirson, this is a general art course suitable for anyone looking to expand and practice their skill set. An informal, friendly and loosely structured class, Introductory Art allows participants to explore the areas and techniques that they find most useful.

Drawing inspiration from contemporary artists as well as the great masters and the History of Art we will be exploring fundamental notions in fine art like composition, prospective, tone and texture while at the same time encouraging creative thinking and imagination and most importantly having fun!

Our art tutor, Sharon Finmark, lives in North London and studied at Central St. Martins School of Art. She has had several books published on painting and drawing.

I am certified by the British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) and classes include a mixture of pranayama, postures and relaxation with focus on correct alignment. The steady flow of postures will improve your strength and flexibility. Mats, blocks and bricks provided or you are welcome to bring your own.

Lauderdale House’s season of open-air music, Sundial Sundays, continues on Sunday 7 July from 2.30pm to 4.30pm. Singer Rachel Sutton and her band performing The Great American Songbook to mark American Independence Day!
Relax on the grass with a drink for an afternoon of live tunes inspired by the US performed by accomplished jazz singer Rachel Sutton.
This free, open-air concert is part of our Sundial Sundays season and is open to everyone.
Young musicians from The Cello Corner school perform live here at Lauderdale House on Sunday 7 July upstairs in the Long Gallery.
The young performers are the students of Susanne Beer’s The Cello Corner, and range from five to eleven years old. A number of these performers have also earned places in the National Children’s Orchestra and have won numerous musical awards.
The programme will include solo repertoire by Bach, Breval and Popper as well as chamber music by Haydn and Mendelssohn.
This is a charity concert, supporting Melanoma Focus

Three members of She’Koyokh, “the UK’s best klezmer and Balkan music band” (the Evening Standard) return to Lauderdale House for an afternoon of traditional music from Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia, Greece and Jewish eastern Europe. Expect a wild swirl of clarinet, effortless guitar licks and tasty accordion on the pretty Tea Lawn outside Lauderdale House on Sunday 14 July from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
She’Koyokh Trio features Susi Evans on clarinet, Matt Bacon on guitar and Živorad Nikolić on accordion and voice.

Lauderdale House’s resident pianist Stephen Hose performs a free concert on the third Tuesday of each month.
Take a break from a busy day of work and join us in the beautiful and bright Long Gallery overlooking the gardens of Waterlow park. Stephen will perform a 45 minute repertoire of lovely classical music. A delightful, relaxing way to spend your lunchtime!
Each lunchtime concert runs from 1.15pm to 2pm, and is free and open to all. There is no ticket required – simply turn up and take a seat. Doors will open at 1pm.
