In a not-too-distant future people can buy personal cleaners called Intronauts – miniaturised human workers injected into their bodies to carry out essential maintenance. But how much do we really want to know about what goes on inside ourselves? Green Ginger‘s new show is a story of advancing technology, big syringes and a tiny submarine. Taking its cue from classic sci-fi movies and fuelled by absurd visual comedy, animated sets and innovative puppetry, Intronauts offers an intoxicating inner body experience that is out of this world. Join them for a trip that really gets under the skin; after all, what could possibly go wrong?

Singer and songwriter Nick Cope joins us for the first children’s show of the year on 12 January.
Nick Cope’s family performances are legendary! For the last 9 years Nick has been writing, performing and recording music for children and their families and has established a fanatical army of little people and their parents from all over the world. With songs about head lice, dogs eating soap and dragons called Keith, “even the shyest of kids will warm to his unpretentious style.” (Fest Magazine)
Nick Cope’s Family Song Book will take place at 10.30am on 12 January 2019. Performances last approximately 45 minutes and are suitable for children aged two and up.
As preparations are underway to commemorate the centenary of what is seen by many as the worst attrocity of the British Raj, historian Dr Zareer Masani separates myth from reality and explains the causes, context and consequences of the massacre and why it’s been so crucial in Indo-British relations.
This Coolhurst Speaker Evening includes dinner. Price £25. Contact Michaeljocallaghan@hotmail.com for tickets.
Dr Masani has a doctorate in history from the university of Oxford. His work may be familiar to readers of the Independent, the Daily Telegraph, the Times Literary Supplement, and to BBC Radio 4 listeners.

A special breakfast viewing of the exhibition with artist Kathryn Elkin. Coffee, tea and pastries will be provided. All welcome, drop-in anytime between 9am-10.30am.
In this “pregnancy and baby” video—as the artist describes it—Kathryn Elkin tackles, with her usual sense of humour and irreverence, issues around motherhood, labour and creation, personal biography, being an artist and the transforming pregnant body. Queen was conceived and shot during the artist’s pregnancy and first months of parenthood.
Queen was first presented at BALTIC 39 and was produced in the context of the Warwick Stafford Fellowship. BL CK B X: Kathryn Elkin is Elkin’s first solo show in London.
Kathryn Elkin (Belfast, 1983) is an artist working with performance, video and writing. Her idiosyncratic, self-reflexive and at times hilariously absurd video works deal with roleplaying and improvising, often resembling simplified versions of music videos and TV talk shows. In her work, Elkin fuses biographical memory with shared cultural memory (popular music, television and cinema), offering a comparison of the way in which we experience art to the ways and means it is understood culturally.
Elkin is a graduate of Glasgow School of Art (2005) and Goldsmiths College (2012) and former LUX Associate Artist (2013). She is currently based in Berwick Upon Tweed.
