We’re looking for people to share their knowledge and enthusiasm for Highgate Cemetery with our visitors.
Our new course runs over four Saturday mornings from 31st October 10.30am until about 1pm.
The course covers the founding and development of the Cemetery as well as some of the most famous people buried here. You’ll also learn tour guiding skills and cash handling so that you can contribute to a great visitor experience.

This summer sees the return of Postcards Festival. For two weeks in July, Highgate will be home to a whole host of weird and wonderful acts as we present an eclectic mix of circus, cabaret and extraordinary performance.
What’s more, Postcards 2016 is breaking the mould: for the first time at a London festival, all ticket prices are up to you with the launch of our new Pay What You Decide scheme! CONSTRUCTS is the inaugural exhibition at LUX’s new home in Waterlow Park, in Highgate. It marks LUX’s return to Camden, where its predecessor organisation, the London Film-Makers’ Co-operative, was based for more than three decades.
Curated by Matt Carter, the exhibition features work by three emerging London-based artists who graduated this year: Katie Hare (MFA Goldsmiths), Callum Hill (MA RCA), and Ellie Power (BA Wimbledon). Their work spans across HD video, CGI, gaming networks, installation, animation, found footage and 16mm film, with each artist’s diverse practice engaging with and utilising moving image in its many forms today. The works presented in this exhibition interrogate the constructs of the mediums themselves, the latent power they might hold, and examine their relationships to individual and collective cultural constructs.
CONSTRUCTS continues the partnership initiated in 2014 between Art Licks Weekend and LUX for the Moving Image programme of the festival.
