Banish Winter Gloom! Coach trip to two great gardens

Cambridge Botanic Garden and Benington Lordship
Saturday February 22 – £29 for adults, £20 for children under 16

Join a day trip to one of the most renowned snowdrop gardens in the South East. Benington Lordship is famous for its spectacular display of naturalised snowdrops around the remains of the Norman keep and its moat. The snowdrop walk is augmented by a display of rare and unusual snowdrops. There’s a small café in the grounds and the garden is fully wheelchair accessible. And it happens to be on the way to …… Cambridge Botanic Garden – home to a 40 year old winter garden that helped set the agenda for others around the country. It has all the ingredients of a well established display from colourful Cornus and Salix to hellebores and fragrant winter flowering shrubs. CBG also has hot houses, is home to collections of tropical and equatorial plants and is ideal as a refuge in cold weather. There’s plenty to see including drifts of summer plants showing their winter interest.

There’s an excellent restaurant serving lunch as well as snacks and, of course, the inevitable shop. Most of the CBG is accessible to wheelchairs with the exception of some heritage features.

Price £29 for adults, £20 for children under 16. Under 2s go free. Leaving at 9 a.m. from Lauderdale House and returning at 5.30 p.m. To book email Friends of Waterlow Park at info@waterlowpark.org.uk
