Join us on the first Tuesday of the month for a free lunchtime concert.

A wonderful way to break up the working day, our lunchtime concerts offer 45 minutes of gorgeous classical music performed live in the elegant and historic setting of our Long Gallery.

Each lunchtime concert runs from 1.15pm to 2pm, and is free and open to all. There is no ticket required – simply turn up and take a seat. Doors will open at 1pm.

After a successful summer term at Highgate Library we are continuing running weekly after school yoga classes for children (4-9 yrs) at Jacksons Lane in the Autumn Term. There will be max. 15 places and 14 sessions, starting Tuesday 3rd September.
Classes consist of a gentle warm up, breathing exercises, a series of sun salutations and story based yoga poses and flow, including partner / group poses, yoga / mindfulness games (or arts & crafts) plus relaxation. Don’t hesitate to get in touch for more information. Drop-in pending availability.

Our children’s art classes run on a termly basis, providing children aged 5-11 with an introduction to the basics of drawing and painting. Each week children will build on their skills learnt in previous weeks, developing their confidence and ability, with the help of our supportive and friendly teachers.

With European and World tours alongside a wide range of musicians, and albums for ECM, the most prestigious label in jazz, Iain Ballamy (saxaphones) is one of the leading players and composers of his generation. For this very special concert, Ballamy has invited the eminent pianist John Horler known for his work with John Dankworth and Kenny Wheeler, the legendary Dave Green (bass) who came to prominence playing with the Dudley Moore trio and the gifted young contemporary drummer Will Glaser. This first time cross-generational meeting will be a fascinating line up, combining decades of experience with some fresh contemporary influences – an unmissable quartet hosted by Iain Ballamy, a tenor player who never ceases to surprise….

Mrs. H and the Sing-along Band return to Lauderdale House with their unique family music. Their aim is to provide quality music for children, that adults will love too. Bringing together elements of Folk, Soul, Afro, Latin, Dub, comedy and theatre this unique band present the ‘sing-along’ with a new lease of life for all the family to join in with.

Headed up by Mrs H on lead vocals and guitar, the all star band includes members of Red snapper, Emily Barker and The Red Clay Halo, Beth Orton’s band and The Leisure Society, on an array of instruments including guitars, banjos, double bass, accordion and trumpet. Bring your voices, silly dances, a sprinkling of mischief and don’t hold back from joining in the fun!

 Mrs H and the Singalong band will take place at 10.30am on Saturday 12 October. Performances last approximately 45 minutes and are suitable for children aged 0+ and their families.

Lauderdale House’s resident pianist Stephen Hose performs a free concert on the third Tuesday of each month.

Take a break from a busy day of work and join us in the beautiful and bright Long Gallery overlooking the gardens of Waterlow park. Stephen will perform a 45 minute repertoire of lovely classical music. A delightful, relaxing way to spend your lunchtime!

These world-class musicians perform their highly anticipated debut concert together, creating a fresh take on their specially chosen compositions. They each have recent albums which are enjoying great critical acclaim. This promises to be a very special evening of sublimely beautiful music.
