The hard hitting, dynamic jazz group Nigel Price Organ Trio returns to Lauderdale House
Nigel Price Organ Trio was nominated for the 2021 Parliamentary Jazz Award for ‘Best ensemble’ (they won in 2010) and are winners of the 2016 British Jazz Award for ‘Best Small Group’. Expect dynamic solos and terrific ensemble playing as the group revisit highlights from their vast back catalogue.
Nigel is known for his clear, no nonsense, driving approach to jazz guitar and has steadily become one of the UK’s foremost exponents of the instrument. Ross Stanley is not only one of the greatest ever UK musicians, he also plays a real B3 Hammond Organ complete with 2 Leslie speakers. Joel Barford is the man of the moment and has been causing a stir across the UK and further afield with his incredible drumming ability. Award winning trumpet player and vocalist Pete Horsfall joins us for a very special evening performance
Pete’s unique engagement and eclectic approach to the jazz tradition has seen him featured regularly as a guest on BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 3 and Jazz FM. As a trumpet soloist he has performed at a huge array of prestigious venues and festivals throughout the world including London’s Royal Albert Hall, New York’s Lincoln Center, Paris’ Duc Des Lombards, The North Sea Jazz Festival and Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club amongst many others.
Pete has performed and recorded with acts including Kansas Smitty’s, Guy Barker, Jamie Cullum, Clare Teal, Kurt Elling, Jim Mullen, De La Soul, DJ Premier and Friendly Fires. As a passionate jazz educator, Pete has led workshops and masterclasses at The Guildhall School of Music & Drama
