Gemma Maclean and Ben Morris will star in the new production of the 1966 Tony Award-Winning musical I Do! I Do! which will run at Upstairs at the Gatehouse in London this Autumn.
The show has music and lyrics by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt, best known for their long running hit Off-Broadway musical The Fantasticks. This new production will feature all-new and updated material including never before heard songs by Tom Jones.
Based on the Jan de Hartog play, The Fourposter, I Do! I Do! chronicles the highs and lows of a couple’s marriage spanning over fifty years. I Do! I Do! was the first two-person musical to play on Broadway where it originally ran for 560 performances starring Mary Martin and Robert Preston prior to a successful 1996 Off-Broadway revival.

After a successful summer term at Highgate Library we are continuing running weekly after school yoga classes for children (4-9 yrs) at Jacksons Lane in the Autumn Term. There will be max. 15 places and 14 sessions, starting Tuesday 3rd September.
Classes consist of a gentle warm up, breathing exercises, a series of sun salutations and story based yoga poses and flow, including partner / group poses, yoga / mindfulness games (or arts & crafts) plus relaxation. Don’t hesitate to get in touch for more information. Drop-in pending availability.

For the June and September dates please bring small pliers if you have some. Casual clothes. We will collect in rubbish bags at the end.
Safety: We’ll give a short briefing at the start of each session and will stick together as a group. We will have a first aid kit.

Helen Lawrence will speak about her new ground-breaking book, THE SAVING OF HAMPSTEAD HEATH: A Story of People Power, which gives us a new perspective on the campaigns to save Hampstead Heath. It makes clear that the need for vigilance to protect the Heath did not end with the “saving” of its core area in the 1870s, but continued until well into the later 20th century and is still essential. Copies of the book will be available for purchase. Helen has been Chairman of the Heath and Hampstead Society, a Trustee of the London Forum and a Trustee of Civic Voice.
