
After a successful summer term at Highgate Library we are continuing running weekly after school yoga classes for children (4-9 yrs) at Jacksons Lane in the Autumn Term. There will be max. 15 places and 14 sessions, starting Tuesday 3rd September.
Classes consist of a gentle warm up, breathing exercises, a series of sun salutations and story based yoga poses and flow, including partner / group poses, yoga / mindfulness games (or arts & crafts) plus relaxation. But this isn’t your usual fairy tale, and princess Winnifred isn’t your usual fairy-tale princess. The Kingdom in which she seeks her prince seethes with a very adult problem, which won’t end until a very stubborn Queen Aggravain allows her son to marry Alas, he is his mother’s prince, and is any princess really good enough?

Art classes for children at Jacksons Lane in Highgate every Wednesday 4-5 pm for kids ages 6-10 yrs old. All sessions are specifically design to help children develop their artistic skills and knowledge by using a combination of mediums and techniques such as painting, drawing and printmaking. Drawing inspiration from contemporary artists as well as the great masters and the History of Art we will be exploring fundamental notions in fine art like composition, prospective, tone and texture while at the same time encouraging creative thinking and imagination and most importantly having fun!

We have all been baking a lot during lockdown, so The Highgate Society invites you to the Highgate Festival Bake-Off.
Whether you just progressed from banana bread or have impressed neighbours and family with your amazing cakes for a long time, this casual zoom event is for you. Kick off the first Highgate Festival Saturday with your best cake, impress your neighbours, and due to current restrictions: eat it all yourself.
First meeting: 10 am for meet and greet, and some technical tips.
Second meeting: 4 pm for show off, some laughs and tasting – and finally judging by Kate of www.cakeishappening.co.uk

‘The Lost Spring’ exhibition has now brought the ‘inside out’ and is located in the windows of Lauderdale House.
Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st June
and Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th June. From 11 to 6 pm on all these days.
The Lost Spring includes a fascinating interview with Peter Gallagher as he walks around Lauderdale House, where he also lives, showing us the exhibition he has hung in the galleries and explaining the stories behind his art.
