Meta – Gandini Juggling @ Jacksons Lane
Nov 23 @ 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm
The vertigo of structure, the infectiousness of the shocking.
A show about making shows. A reflection on entertainment. In the 90’s the Gandinis made a series of experimental pieces with Choreographer Gill Clarkethat were performed at Jacksons Lane. For this commission they revisit those pieces with a show which is about itself, an elliptical reflexion on their journey through entertainment.
There will be complex juggling, text, ballet dancing, hammers, nudity, tables and a comedy sketch.
Gandini are bursting with concepts and commentary about form, style and substance. They are excited about this dissection of things, about dwelling deeper into the anatomy of a show.
Back at Jacksons Lane as part of the 40th birthday celebrations, this piece seesGandini simultaneously looking back to the past, forward to the future, and trying to explain how to get from one to the other.
With 6 jugglers and 3 dancers.
There will be a Gala performance of meta on Wed 25 Nov. CLICK HERE for more information.

Roll a D6 @ Boogaloo
Nov 24 @ 6:00 pm – 11:00 pm

Roll a D6

6:30 onwards – Free Entry

How better to meet random people in a pub then with a session of Bullshit Scrabble (make up the words, and justify them to your new friends) or over a few rounds of Cards Against Humanity (“a game for truly horrible people”)? Or maybe you fancy trying out the best game to ever emerge from Germany? That’s right, the ridiculous Camel Up.

And if that doesn’t get you going, we also have other lesser-known gems like Rapidough (dictionary with play dough), Story Dice (an imagination stimulator like no other) or the sublime Love Letter (think Tinder without smartphones or shallow hook-ups). For the traditionalists amongst you we also have a number of Argos-based stalwarts including Chess, Draughts, Backgammon, Risk, Monopoly, Game Of Life, Operation, Hungry Hippos, Guess Who, and many more.

Organised by local nutjob David Harrison – him and his merry men have been running a regression session in the Dungeons & Dragons Speakeasy out back for the last couple of months. If you want in on that as well drop him a line on David@kililive.com.

Plus its ….

Two for One Burger Tuesday! Order a burger tonight and get 2! Amazing offer and its getting very popular so get in early. Offer available from 6pm onwards.

t the northern section of an urban area

UpTown brings a blend of high quality music for dancing to North London’s favourite juke box bar. With an eye to the dancefloor and an ear to some of the finest music produced over the last several decades, Djs Trailer Trish and Johnny Klash set the perfect tone for a Friday night out.
UpTown brings you back to when kids in the North of England spun the night away to the sounds of Detroit and Philly; when Motown ruled the charts; when rock and roll meant ‘rock and roll’; when the sounds of the American South met the big city clubs and everyone was ‘doin the popcorn’; when Studio 54 bumped to brave new beats; when Debbie Harry met Fab 5 Freddy; when UK indie ruled the world; and when pop music was good music

YOUR VILLAGE FAIR NEEDS YOU! @ The Woodman
Dec 1 @ 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm

The Highgate Fair in the Square is a highlight in the Highgate Summer calendar

when friends and neighbours come together in the Village for a fun day out and

welcome visitors from further afield.  The Fair promotes local societies, charitable

causes and businesses, provides a stage for talented local groups, children’s

activities and an exciting selection of stalls.

This event is free and takes place thanks to a team of volunteers.  Without their help

in setting up the Fair, stewarding and clearing up afterwards, the whole occasion

could not take place.  Several long serving members of the organizing committee are

standing down this year so we really need new faces to make next year’s Fair on

Saturday 11 June 2016 a success.

If you would like to help and become part of this amazing team we would like to hear

from you.  If you want to find out how you can help and what is entailed, the team

invites you to an open evening from 7.30pm on Tuesday 1 December at The

Woodman, 414 Archway Rd, N6 5UA.  If you can’t make this or would like further

details, please email: thefairinthesquare@gmail.com.
