The readings include narrative about romance in the world of aviation during that glamorous but flawed decade, the 1930s. The contributors include a producer of independent touring live literature shows, a psychiatrist, psychotherapist and writer; and a poet whose work was shortlisted for the 2012 Ted Hughes Award for New Work in Poetry.

A celebration of London life through the ages, with readings, riotous anecdotes and live music. Dickens, Emmeline Pankhurst, Pepys, Blake, Boswell, Ian Dury, Dostoevsky and Virginia Woolf are among those featured. The actors are Daniel Dresner and Kate Walsh, who is about to join Radio 4 as a continuity announcer; music is by Bow and Bellows (violin, vocals, horn, accordion).
As part of Jacksons Lane’s LAUNCH programme to give more professional theatre opportunities to young people, it presents Extremism, part of the National Theatre’s festival of plays for young people, Connections. Extremism, by Anders Lustgarten, watches a class react when a student is taken out of the room by his teacher – and the police. A microcosm of our battle between tolerance and fear in a multi-faith society.

Innovative Latin American harpist, composer and poet, Ricardo Curbelo, combines traditional music from a variety of Latin American countries, together with his own, spellbinding compositions. Vibrant, energetic and jazzy pieces contrast with more classical, enchanting melodies and tender vocals. He is delighted to share this concert with wonderful classical guitarist, Fiona Harrison, who will also present a fascinating and varied programme of music, crossing cultures and centuries from Renaissance England through to contemporary Japan.
