The first performance by the Haydn Chamber Orchestra in 2013 will be a concert in aid of the Harington Scheme and Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice.  Over the years this orchestra has raised £70,000 for various charities.  They are a group of brilliant musicians, many of whom could have become professional, but who chose another path.  Since the very early days, it has attracted top musicians to work with it without fees, among them are Sir Colin Davies, Sir Andrew Davis, Imogen Cooper and Natalie Clein.

The concert takes place on January 19 2013 at St Michael’s Church, Highgate.  It is an exciting line-up. The conductor will be Nicholas Collon who conducted two concerts at this season’s BBC Proms and who has just recently made his ENO debut.  The soloist will be pianist Charles Owen, a local musician with an international reputation, having played with many leading orchestras in concert venues throughout the world.
