Christmas Concert: Like A Bright Star Shineth @ St. Mary Brookfield Church
Dec 5 @ 7:30 pm – 9:15 pm

Get into the Christmas spirit with a concert of festive choral music in a candlelit church.

You’ll hear classic and new arrangements of traditional tunes such as I Saw Three Ships, Deck The Halls, Angels from the Realms of Glory, In the Bleak Midwinter, O Christmas Tree and The Coventry Carol as well some of the most beautiful new festive choral music and some fun songs. You’ll also have the opportunity to raise the roof by joining in with favourite carols, including Hark! The Herald Angels Sing and It Came Upon The Midnight Clear.

A bar will be open from 7pm selling wine, champagne and mince pies. Last year’s concert was a sell-out so please book in advance to be sure of a seat.

Voxcetera is a chamber choir celebrating sacred and secular music from medieval times to the present day under the direction of its founding conductor Jane Hopkins. The choir’s achievements include its popular Christmas concerts; performances with chamber ensembles of Vivaldi’s Gloria, and the Fauré, Saint-Saëns and Brahms Requiems at St Michael’s Highgate; tours to Germany and Ireland; performances at St Martin-in-the-Fields, St John Smith Square, St Stephen Walbrook and East Finchley Arts Festival; appearances at the Science Museum, British Library and the Southbank Centre; and a variety of recording work.

Santa’s Grotto @ Lauderdale House
Dec 6 @ 10:00 am – 5:30 pm

Every year a magical Christmas grotto springs up in Lauderdale House as the man himself (Father Christmas, Santa Claus, Père Noël, Saint Nick) pays us a special seasonal visit. Children of all ages are welcome to meet him!

Santa is very eager to see all of the good children this year! Enjoy free winter colouring-in pages (with coloured pencils to borrow) as you wait for Santa. When it’s your turn, you’ll be taken into our Long Gallery, transformed into a winter grotto with festive decorations, where you will meet Ken the Elf. Ken the Elf will accompany you to see Santa, nestled away in his cosy room, who will have a chat with each child before sending them off with a present.
