Singer and songwriter Nick Cope joins us for the first children’s show of the year on 12 January.
Nick Cope’s family performances are legendary! For the last 9 years Nick has been writing, performing and recording music for children and their families and has established a fanatical army of little people and their parents from all over the world. With songs about head lice, dogs eating soap and dragons called Keith, “even the shyest of kids will warm to his unpretentious style.” (Fest Magazine)
Nick Cope’s Family Song Book will take place at 10.30am on 12 January 2019. Performances last approximately 45 minutes and are suitable for children aged two and up.
Tessa and Ian Henghes and Karen and Mark Rogers will talk about their travels in Uganda with slides and tea with cake!

Benny Dembitzer is a British economist who has specialized in the economics of developing countries, particularly on the continent of Africa. He was a member of the team that won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1985.
Benny is currently Managing Director of GRASSROOTSAFRICA, a not for profit organisation that is offering an on-line agricultural advisory service for farmers in sub-Saharan Africa. The aim is to set up a service that, in the long run, will be accessible on mobile telephony as well as on the internet and in a variety of languages. The project is being trialled across Malawi, Tanzania and Uganda in 2015 and 2016. www.grassrootsafrica.org.
He is also the director the GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT COURSES which have been run in London since 2003. Over 750 staff of different voluntary organisations through the UK that work in the field of development (from OXFAM to Save the Children Fund, from ActionAid to WaterAid) have been trained via this highly professional short course, organised twice a year in central London.

John Allan will give a talk – Local Heroes – Modern Movement Architects in North London. He will present works by Wells Coates, Erno Goldfinger and Bertold Lubetkin, including conservation projects he has carried out on their key buildings such as Isokon Apartments, Willow Road and Highpoint. Visitors will be able to take tours of the House with members of the Events Team, as well as meet our wonderful catering partners, Pink Food, who tailor menus to suit each individual event. There will also be representatives from the Camden Registry Office, as well as a variety of local wedding suppliers who will be able to help you plan your special day.

Our February children’s show is The Sea Show; a quirky and hilarious mix of puppet show, natural history and comedy cabaret created by actor, musician and puppeteer Craig Johnson.
Meet crazy characters like Morwenna the ‘beautiful’ mermaid, Ruan the reformed seagull and salty seadog Captain Pemburthy, as well as a cast of mischievous sea-squirts, anemones, limpets, crabs and pilchards. Come and celebrate the sea with tall tales, silly slapstick, fantastic facts, live music and songs – unmissable fun for children and adults of all ages!
