9 To 5 The Musical, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick, is based on the seminal 1980 hit movie. Set in the late 1970s this hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous, thought-provoking, and even a little romantic.
Pushed to the boiling point, three female co-workers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss. In a hilarious turn of events, Violet, Judy and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy – giving their boss the boot! While Hart remains “otherwise engaged,” the women give their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down.
Hey, a girl can scheme, can’t she?
The production will be directed by Joseph Hodges, with Musical Direction by Oliver Hance, Choreography by Chris Whittaker and Casting by Harry Blumenau.

The Moeran Quartet take their name from the composer Ernest John Moeran (1894 – 1950). Recently there has been a growing interest in the works of this most underrated of British composers. A student of John Ireland and great friend of Peter Warlock, he was known for his collection of Norfolk folk songs and his talent for the lyrical capturing of Britain and Ireland’s rural landscapes.
The four members of the quartet are experienced chamber musicians with a passion for the championing of British music. They lead diverse musical careers by playing regularly with orchestras such as the Hanover Band, Urban Soul Orchestra, Orchestra of St. Paul’s and Opera Holland Park. Between them they have studied at the Royal Academy of Music, Trinity Laban Conservatoire and Royal College of Music.
Studying at this latter establishment is not the only link with the eponymous composer. James Greenfield, a cellist and past member of the Billroth Quartet, also attended the same boarding school, Uppingham; a school Moeran later returned to as a professor of music.
They look forward to bringing their passion for music to Lauderdale House where they begin a residency in 2017.

mosaic – london myriad ensemble
Following a very successful concert in February, London Composers Forum takes pride and delight in joining forces for a second time with the London Myriad Ensemble, to present a concert at Lauderdale House, showcasing the music of the ten Forum composers who featured in the February concert.
Since its conception as a professional chamber group in 2004, the London Myriad Ensemble has performed regularly both in the UK and internationally. As first prize International Competition winners in 2009, the ensemble performs a wide repertoire as a flexible ensemble with a wind quartet as its core which expands to quintet when required. ww.londonmyriad.com
With a keen interest in new music and in expanding the repertoire for woodwind chamber ensemble, the London Myriad Ensemble welcomes this second collaboration with London Composers Forum and the chance to explore the broad variety of exciting and accessible music which Forum composers have contributed.
The works in the programme range from jazz-inspired through to pastoral, humorous, festive and elegiac in character and present a fascinating cross-section of the creative mix that makes London Composers Forum a vibrant and dynamic focus for new music in the capital. This concert is supported by the RVW Trust.
London Composers Forum is open to all composers interested in composing contemporary classical music. New members are welcomed regularly. Visit the website: www.londoncomposersforum.org.uk

“Highgate Modern Homes”, on 16th and 17th September is an exhibition which shows how the historic village of Highgate and its surroundings are the setting for perhaps the largest concentration of modern homes in the UK. Many are hidden away from view, due to local planning policies of the past, changing economic contexts and the pressure on land, but they can be seen in this showcase of contemporary architecture to be held at Omved Gardens, Townsend Yard between 12 and 5 pm on both days. LUX presents a solo exhibition by Kate Davis featuring her new film, Charity (2017), commissioned as part of the Margaret Tait Award, Scotland’s most prestigious moving image prize for artists. This will be the first gallery presentation of Charity outwith Scotland and the first exhibition of Davis’ work in London since 2012.
Working across a range of media, including film and video, drawing, printmaking, installation and bookworks, Davis questions how historical narratives are produced and perpetuated. This has often involved probing the aesthetic and political ambiguities of particular artworks and specific historical moments from a contemporary feminist perspective.
Commissioned by LUX and Glasgow Film Festival in 2016, Charitywas inspired by the ways in which the work of film-maker, poet and artist Margaret Tait invites the viewer to contemplate fundamental emotions and everyday activities that are often overlooked. Taking artistic representations of breastfeeding as its focus, the film explores how the essential – but largely invisible and unpaid – processes we employ to care for others could be re-imagined.
Charity is shown alongside related artworks, bookworks, research materials and a selection of films and videos from the LUX and Cinenova collections. A newly commissioned text by writer and lecturer Amy Tobin will be published on the occasion of the exhibition.
The exhibition is curated by Nicole Yip, Director of LUX Scotland, and presented with LUX Scotland.
Kate Davis’ film, Charity, was commissioned as part of the 2016–17 Margaret Tait Award and received additional generous support from Outset Scotland.
Opening: Sunday 17th September 2-5pm
Exhibition continues Weds-Sat 12-5pm until 28th October
