Adult Mosaic Classes @ Studio 1

I will be running some fun and exciting Mosaic Classe, suitable for beginners or people with some experience, from my studio in Muswell Hill from next week. You can sign up for a weekend, a day, come for a few hours or alternatively have private lessons. Please email me at sally@sallykendallmosaics if you or anyone you know is interested. The classes will run from 11am-5pm and prices include use of equipment and materials (vitreous glass tiles, A5, A4 and 30 x 30 cm boards, or bring something of your own to work on).

Stitchin’ Fiction @ The Boogaloo

“A new writing night where casting, rehearsing, and performing takes place in the course of a single evening.” Once a month, writers are given the chance to see their words brought to life by performers, who in turn get to hone their improvisation and workshopping skills in a relaxed atmosphere, and be on the pulse of new work. Sketches, monologues, duologues, spoken word, performance poetry – as long as it’s new! Stitchin’ Fiction strives to create new links between passionate creatives –  pulling words off the page and into reality. Based in the heart of North London, join in or come along to watch the newest of new writing from 7:30pm! Date: Tuesday 3rd February Time: 6pm for Participants – Public Scratch Performance begins 7:30pm followed by Q&A Venue: The Boogaloo, 312 Archway Road, London, N6 5AT The Boogaloo with Stitchin’ Fiction strive to create new links between budding creatives. Virtual Tour – The Heights of Dickens @ Virtual tour

From the comfort of your home, follow in a virtual tour in Charles Dickens’ footsteps in a walk from Highgate to the hamlet of North End on the border with Hampstead and Hampstead Garden Suburb. We will follow some of Bill Sikes escape route after murdering Nancy in Oliver Twist, see houses that Dickens stayed in; learn about his friendship with philanthropist Baroness Angela Burdett-Coutts; view the house that inspired Steerforth’s mother’s house in David Copperfield and peep into Highgate Cemtrey where several members of the Dickens family were buried and follow the Gordon rioters in Barnaby Rudge towards Lord Mansfield’s country estate at Kenwood (Caen Wood). We will pay a visit o the Spaniard’s Inn featured in the Pickwick Papers and continue with Bill Sikes’ journey in Oliver Twist from Highgate Hill across the grounds of Kenwood towards Northend and Hendon. We finish in North End where we view the 17th farmhouse that Dickens lodged in after the death of his sister in law Mary Hogarth.
