Eclectic mixture of antiques & crafts from familiar dealers and new- selling: felted creations, bright soft leather ware, stylish summer hats, china recycled and updated, varieties of stationery, cloth- vintage, quilted, cushions and ethnic from India & Malli, jewellery- costume, tribal, precious, vintage clothing, glassware, books … an Aladdin’s cave of goods.

A small, friendly Christmas fair set in the beautiful surroundings of Highgate’s Literary & Scientific Institution offering a wide range of antiques and local crafts as well as items from Indie Books (publishers of From Syria With Love), culinary crafts from Kitchen Provisions, hand-made cards from Save Me I’m Wild, children’s clothing from Olive Pip Clothing plus jewellery and textiles from Antonia Graham.
For food-lovers, there will be a Cookbook Swap Shop where you can bring a cookbook from home and swap it for a new one, wine tasting and a literary-themed pop-up Cafe serving cakes, sweets and snacks such as Proust’s Madeleines, Geoffrey Chaucer’s Apple Pie, Walt Whitman’s Coffee Cake, Sausage Rolls from Harry Potter and Turkish Delight from The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. For children, there will be a Scavenger Hunt (with goodie bags from Rude Health’s new kids’ range) and a Craft Room where they can create hand-made Christmas cards themed around well known Christmas books.
CABARET AT TEA TIME: KIERAN BROWN supported by Francesca Benton-Stace Sun 19 Feb, 3.30pm | £28.50 – £14 In homage to our glorious past as a Victorian Tea Room, the new Cabaret at Tea Time series combines two of our favourite things: afternoon tea and cabaret! Today’s star is the magnificent Keiran Brown who has recently performed in The Phantom Of the Opera as well as Les Miserables and Wicked.

In homage to our glorious past – after the House was restored in 1893 it served as the Waterlow Park tearoom for 70 years- we’re introducing Cabaret at Tea Time with a ticket offer that combines a high tea plus cabaret ticket. Headline: Shona White
Shona White is an experienced Scottish actress and singer, who gained her post graduate qualification in Musical Theatre from the Royal Academy of Music in 1998. Just some of her numerous theatre credits include Florence Vassy in ‘Chess’ (Prince of Wales Theatre, Toronto), Rita in ‘All the Fun of the Fair’ (Garrick Theatre), Betty in ‘Shout’ (UK Tour), Elphaba/ Standby in ‘Wicked’ (Apollo Victoria Theatre), and Magenta/ Usherette in ‘The Rocky Horror Show’ (Playhouse Theatre). She has also performed many solo cabarets at venues including The Pheasantry, appeared in concerts including ‘An Evening with Elton John’ at The Royal Albert Hall, and has recently released a debut album, ‘I’ll Bring You A Song’, which is available on iTunes.
