For more than 30 years St Joseph’s has heralded Christmas with the Living Crib and we want to make this year’s the biggest ever. Mary, Joseph and Bayleaf the Donkey will be waiting in Pond Square N6 6BA on Sunday Dec 11 to start our procession at 3 pm. Are you a Shepherd or an Angel, a Wiseman or Wisewoman? Come along in your costume and let’s fill Highgate with the Christmas Story. We need lots of people to sing so please come, for everyone, of every age!
Short Candle-lit Carol service in St Joseph’s Church at the end with a tableau of all the children. Mince pies and mulled wine or soft drinks afterwards! N19 5NE

Carola Darwin and Nicholas Baumgartner: voice and piano recital @ St Michael's Church

Carola Darwin and Nicholas Baumgartner will perform a voice and piano recital at 6:00 pm on Saturday, 12 January 2019, at St Michael’s Church, Highgate Village (South Grove, N6 6BJ). The program will comprise Ariettes Oubliées by Debussy, and Kinderszenen Op. 15 and the “Eichendorff” Liederkreis Op. 39, both by Schumann.
Carola Darwin combines a career as an opera and concert singer with research and writing about music. She trained at Royal Northern College of Music, and holds a PhD from the University of Sheffield. She is now an Academic Professor at the Royal College of Music, where she teaches music history.
Nicholas Baumgartner is general counsel of Citigroup’s equity capital markets business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Born in Michigan, USA, Nicholas studied piano at Interlochen Arts Academy and holds a B.Mus. in Piano Performance from Oberlin Conservatory of Music, a B.A. in German Literature from Oberlin College and a J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School.
