A fresh and thrilling adaptation of the classic tale, and one that keeps close to Stevenson’s original story. When young Jim Hawkins is left a treasure map by the dying buccaneer Billy Bones, he sets sail on the Hispaniola in search of the island. Among the crew, Long John Silver becomes his greatest friend – but Silver has a shocking secret in store and, when they reach their destination, Jim faces danger and adventure greater than he could ever have imagined.
The exhibition is a dazzling collection of colourful effects; Michele, one of the UK’s leading original abstract artists, using vibrant paint and colours in a whole new way to create art that touches you both visually and emotionally. Angel Angeli presents a colourful collection of byzantine and sienese style panels, recreated using 14th century methods of egg tempera and 24ct gold leaf.

Every Thursday the Friends of Waterlow Park (FOWP) in Highgate organise a volunteer session to restore and maintain places in the park that fall outside of the Camden maintenance contract. Amongst them are Sensory Border, the Lauderdale Terraces, the floral sundial, and the rose border. Everyone is welcome to take part. You don’t need gardening experience, tools or even gloves as these are all provided. We meet every Thursday at 10am at the Lauderdale Cafe and finish at about 1pm. It’s a great way of keeping fit and getting some fresh air and exercise while enjoying being around other people. We will finish for the year on the 20th December and reconvene in March. For further details go to the FOWP website: www.waterlowpark.org.uk or contact Patricia Walby, patriciawalby@gmail.com, Tel: 07710 312105.

With Pierrick Pedron (alto), Yutaka Shiina (pno), Adam King (bs) & Matt Skelton (dms)
Damon Brown has assembled a truly international band from his years of travelling across Spain, France, South Korea and Japan. Pierrick won the Django Reinhardt prize in 2001 and is signed to prestigious Geman label ACT on the strength of his blistering technique and big, soulful sound. Yutaka, a veteran of Elvin Joes’ Jazz Machine, absolutely stunned the audience when he last played at here. London Jazz News named Adam King one of the 2 outstanding young musicians of this year’s Swanage Jazz Festival while Matt is described as ‘the new Steve Brown’. For those who like their music hot, swinging and lyrical, this will be a feast.

Housed in this landmark church in an instrument of international importance. the grade 1 listed Hill organ of 1898 has been described as “a symphony orchestra”, “a cage of fire-breathing dragons” and “England’s answer to the great organ of Sydney Town Hall”. Although proudly dominating the west gallery, the unique instrument was not designed for this church, or for liturgical use; these recitals provide an opportunity to hear the organ fulfil its original role as a world-class recital instrument.
