Mat knows what you think of juggling. He mostly agrees. But he’s also pretty sure he will change your mind.
Mat Ricardo: Showman is packed with tricks, with genuine displays of danger, of understated dexterous elegance, of thrills, skills, spectacle, slapstick and wit. He presents some old favourites, signature routines, tricks that haven’t been performed for decades and some that have never been performed before at all. Oh, and one that killed a juggler in 1936.
The star of the British cabaret revival, winner of Best Speciality Act in the London Cabaret Awards, and the UK’s most successful juggler, Mat Ricardo delivers a show packed full of the evidence of what you can achieve if you devote all of your adult life to showing off.
“Mat Ricardo is the best of both worlds – a genius juggler and a gifted comedian” Time Out
Your favourite vintage sounds guaranteed to get you clapping and shouting. This is a raucous night of rock ‘n’ roll and soul. All your old favourites spun on crackly 45′s. Red was featured in Timeout Special as one of the top alternative DJs in London … come see for yourself! Think polka dots, braces, high trousers and mini-skirts… Dancing till 2am.
“The joy of this night is that Miss Red balances both rare and known vintage records perfectly, which means there is never a lull in the evening, never have we been to a night before where the dance floor is packed from start to finish” HOXTON RADIO

We are thrilled to be bringing French circus company i19 to Postcards for the only London date of this incredible show.
The simplicity of Layers makes the performances of three talented circus artists even more impressive. Showcasing lightening paced contemporary dance with perfectly timed acrobatic sequences and spectacular Chinese pole, i19 have created a show which is imaginative, moving and hugely entertaining.

Self-styled ‘twisted rock cabaret’ performer Marcus Reeves debuts his brand new album, Quicksilver – The Masquerade Macabre, in an evening of post-glam ballads. Channelling some of the world’s most flamboyant and theatrical performers – Bowie, Mercury and Boy George – Marcus describes his new material as a “sonic threesome between Aladdin Sane, Hedwig and the Phantom of the Opera”, all presented in striking glitter-chic.

Every Thursday the Friends of Waterlow Park (FOWP) in Highgate organise a volunteer session to restore and maintain places in the park that fall outside of the Camden maintenance contract. Amongst them are Sensory Border, the Lauderdale Terraces, the floral sundial, and the rose border. Everyone is welcome to take part. You don’t need gardening experience, tools or even gloves as these are all provided. We meet every Thursday at 10am at the Lauderdale Cafe and finish at about 1pm. It’s a great way of keeping fit and getting some fresh air and exercise while enjoying being around other people. We will finish for the year on the 20th December and reconvene in March. For further details go to the FOWP website: www.waterlowpark.org.uk or contact Patricia Walby, patriciawalby@gmail.com, Tel: 07710 312105.

with Renato D’Aiello (vce), Bruno Montrone (pno), Dario Di Lecce (d.bs) & Ed Richardson (dms)
Italian tenor saxophonist Renato D’Aiello is blessed with one of the most gorgeous saxophone sounds in jazz, and we are hard pushed to think of a better ballad player anywhere. On the other hand, inspired by players as disparate as Parker and Coltrane, he is capable of burning the paint off the woodwork. His fellow Italians are in the UK for a short tour and we are indeed fortunate to catch them for our season.

Metalhead, amateur occultist, vegan, heterosexual transvestite and musician Andrew O’Neill is “the very definition of alternative” and his new show is perfect stand-up comedy for Postcards. Creative and upbeat, genuine and lightning fast, Easily Distracted is about Andrew’s inability to concentrate on writing a new comedy show…so let’s see how this one turns out!
“An increasingly distinctive, imaginative act…brilliant, genuinely unexpected lines are added to the mix. At this rate, it won’t be long until he’s huge.” Chortle

Finnish magician Robert Jagerhorn has been nurturing his quirky magic act in Helsinki for years and, desperate to bring his genius to UK shores, we’re dragging him to London to be part of Postcards.
In this show he presents Hitchcock’s very first silent film Number 8 using only his unique brand of magic and comedy. Prepare for the absurd, the hilarious and the memorable, in an entertaining night of tricks and feats.

UpTown brings a blend of high quality music for dancing to North London’s favourite juke box bar. With an eye to the dancefloor and an ear to some of the finest music produced over the last several decades, Djs Trailer Trish and Johnny Klash set the perfect tone for a Friday night out.
UpTown brings you back to when kids in the North of England spun the night away to the sounds of Detroit and Philly; when Motown ruled the charts; when rock and roll meant ‘rock and roll’; when the sounds of the American South met the big city clubs and everyone was ‘doin the popcorn’; when Studio 54 bumped to brave new beats; when Debby Harry met Fab 5 Freddy; when UK indie ruled the world; and when pop music was good music.
Clay Oven Pizza Company will have a pop up pizza trailer on site tonight from 6pm.
